LASER HAIR REMOVAL TECHNOLOGY
Our Alma Laser Hair Removal system is proven as the safest hair removal technology and works for all skin shades and hair types. Different from many hair removal systems, the Alma system can also effectively treat pigmented or sun tanned skin.
Additionally, our Alma Laser Hair Removal system uses a cooling tip to minimize the possibility of superficial burns.
Various tip sizes are used to target specific areas and treat the desired areas of hair in the most efficient amount of time. With various size applicators we can effectively address larger areas such as back, legs, arms, and smaller areas such as armpits, nose, lip area, bikini, etc.
Laser hair removal works by using wavelengths of light to destroy melanin. Laser hair removal procedures must be done during you hair’s active growing phase (Anagen) to work effectively.
Yes! The Alma laser hair removal system has the ability to treat all skin shades and hair types with the exception of extremely light, fine hair or peach fuzz. Depending on your hair type and skin shade, as well as your desired results, you may need more or less treatments.
After your treatment, it may at first seem like the treated hair is growing excessively, but over the course of the three-four weeks following your treatment, those hairs will proceed to fall out. Exfoliating/lightly scrubbing the treated areas could speed up the shedding process.
In order to have the most effective treatment, you should stop plucking or waxing at least 6 weeks before your appointment. Since destroying melanin in the hair follicle is the basis of this treatment, there must be hair in the follicle to target. You may shave leading right up to your appointment, as the follicle still remains within the skin.
It is also best to avoid sun exposure 6 weeks before and after your treatment to see optimum results.
Number of treatments needed depends on your desired results and the areas you wish to treat. Those looking to thin hair in certain areas would need less treatments than those looking to remove hair completely. Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are required to affect all hair on any given area.
Some fo the more common side effects after a treatment include:
Multiple hairs are treated at the same time in a fraction of a second. Depending on the overall area you are treating, the session could take just a minute, or up to an hour. Laser hair removal is generally known to be less painful than waxing. The feeling is more of a quick snap as the laser penetrates the skin. Alma’s cooling tip alleviates the stinging that you may feel after such a sensation.
